Vale Wildlife Rescue
Being a volunteer at Vale Wildlife is a highly rewarding experience. From baby otters to birds of prey, I help to care and rehabilitate a variety of wildlife. For more information, please visit www.valewildlife.org.uk
To be a volunteer at Vale Wildlife...
Vale Wildlife Rescue is one of the largest wildlife rescue and rehabilitation centres in the Gloucestershire/Worcestershire region, and cares for a whole range of wild animals, from hedgehogs, squirrels and weasels to some of Britain's rarest birds including Kingfishers.
I started volunteering at Vale in November 2008 and since then I have helped care for hundreds of animals, including helping to de-tick hedgehogs and to hand-feed day old animals.
Being a volunteer is certainly a life experience, but it's not always cute fluffy animals; it also involves cleaning, and having to see some pretty horrific injuries to wild animals (many of which are due in part to human activity).
